"The mother was so much more
comfortable after the baby turned
and grinned from ear to ear.
It was so gentle and permissive.
Truley, the baby chose to turn."
For legal reasons, I can't call it "baby turning". What I can say is that, by gently releasing tension in the lower abdomen, the baby will often change from breech, posterior or transverse position within a couple of days of the session - even within the session itself.
Spinal Touch, Bio Stress Release and Myofascial Release for Pregnancy offer a range of gentle, painless and non manipulative ways to release overtight tissues in the lower abdomen and create space for the baby to reposition itself in preparation for birth.
Working with a rebozo may also help.
In the case of Myofascial Release, the technique is characterised by such stillness that the client might rightly wonder whether the therapist actually did anything at all! Yet the shift in the baby's position, when it happens, accompanied by a characteristic change in the shape of the belly is undeniable and the mother is often more comfortable, too...
Is your baby lying breach, posterior or transverse? Would you like to gently open the space to enable it to change position?
