"Thanks so much for coming to our Support Group in Fulham on Wednesdays. It is really so appreciated and seeing the happy faces among our veterans who have had a treatment, is such a wonderful thing. I am very grateful to you and to the therapists you arrange each time for us. We had16 in the group in all and to have 10 of them treated was brilliant! The remainder either didn't want a treatment or left early. Thank you so much for your support and help, which is so appreciated".
J.S. Combat Stress Co-ordinator "Before leaving the treatment, I found it difficult to walk because of the pain in my knees and toes. I also suffered with pain in my left shoulder. Before the treatment I was sceptical as to what it would do and how it would help me. To my amazement afterwards, I was pain free! What a wonderful feeling - a feeling I have never had for a number of years! I don't care, or want to know how it happened but just know it worked! I would recommend HHN to anyone." I.C. Veteran, Combat Stress, Fulham "Thank you so much for the cranio-sacral treatment I received today. It was fantastic. I felt very tense when I went in and left feeling very relaxed and uplifted. I hope I can have more of this treatment as it has helped a lot. Thank you for your help." P.B. Veteran, Combat Stress, Fulham "My legs felt amazing after the remedial massage from Dave today. They haven't felt this good since before my injury 10 years ago. I could actually put my trousers on properly the normal way afterwards. Amazing!" S.G. Veteran, Combat Stress, London "I have just sat and talked to Cathy for 20 minutes before I even got on the couch for my reflexology. I realise that I never talk to anyone about things and I haven't spoken about these things to anyone before today, wow! I have been having regular treatments at the drop-in support group and have improved and think a bit differently about things now. Thank you HHN". T.C. Veteran, Combat Stress "I feel so empty and useless. I joined up to help people and went to Iraq to help the people there, we were told we would be helping them. But we didn't help the women and children who needed water... I just couldn't get my head round it and still can't. I only wanted to help and make things, life, better for them. The army don't want to help me now. I can't get it all out of my head but they say I am fine. I can't move on. I cry all the time and don't handle situations well and don't sleep for the images that fill my head. The smell, sounds, sight, haunt me. My fiancée left me - she couldn't cope with me". P. Veteran, Combat Stress, Fulham "I used to have PTSD but I'm cured now. I was in Bosnia with the UN. I never talk about it as I'm cured. We were out on patrol one day looking for Serbs who were in the area executing people. We were up a hillside and saw three young children aged between 4-7yrs old, we stopped and gave them sweets and drink from our rations. Later coming back down we saw their bodies at the side of the road. They had been killed because we gave them sweets and showed them kindness. How does that work? I can't stop thinking about it. I just wanted to find who'd done it and kill them too. I used to have trauma but I'm OK now. I got cured". Anon. Stoll Housing for Veterans, Fulham, London. |
